My Cultural Background

I was born in Caracas, Venezuela, and moved to Miami in 1998. I have been living in Miami ever since, interacting with the rich cultures of South Florida in English and Spanish and developing a curiosity and appreciation for the many different ways people view life.

My Training and Experience

I have always aspired to help people design the kind of life they have imagined for themselves. For this reason, I earned my Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Miami. During my clinical training, I worked asstaff therapist at both the Institute for Individual and Family Counseling and Florida International University’s Counseling and Psychological Services. I have experience providing counseling to individuals, couples, and families, as well as children and adolescents for a wide range of emotional and behavioral concerns. I have worked with clients of diverse backgrounds, including ethnic, gender, and sexual identity, and socioeconomic and disability status. I am also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) through the International Association of Trauma Professionals. Additionally, during my time volunteering at the Miami Lighthouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired, I co-facilitated adjustment to blindness support groups to help adolescents with visual and cognitive impairments cope with the physical, social, and emotional demands associated with living with a disability.

My Work is My Passion

I currently work as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Miami. In my practice, I offer counseling for individuals, couples, and families in both English and Spanish. I view therapy as a collaborative process between therapist and client. Since every client has a distinct set of experiences that are layered and complex, I apply complementary therapy approaches, including insight-oriented and solution-focused, to address the specific needs of each client. I meet my clients where they are, and I strive to create a safe and comfortable environment in which they feel supported, respected, and valued, In efforts to consistently uphold the ethical and legal guidelines of the counseling profession, I am a member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT).

My Hobbies

In my spare time, I volunteer with the Yes Institute by giving presentations throughout the community and starting conversations surrounding the topics of gender and orientation. When I am not working, I enjoy trying to cook delicious meals, traveling, and watching movies.
